It’s Hot Out There

It’s hot out there…so hot. I have AC relief. So many don’t.

I’m thinking about this while I drive 300 diabetes educational coloring books from the printer to the Operation Blessing Warehouse. I’m in my car with the AC blowing. As soon as I open the door, that heat made me sweat immediately.

I actually started whining about it internally for a few inexcusable seconds.

The books in my trunk were bound for Haiti. Will the kids who read them be out in this heat with no relief? Are they accustomed to it? Do they have enough water? I don’t know.

I hope the ones who receive our books get a temporary place in the shade to read, to color, to learn.

Gospel Story Parable for Africa Available

Thanks to Kim Kargbo and Women of Hope International, a new book is available to help share the gospel in areas of Africa. Kim shared the text of a parable about the sacrifice of a village chief for a project we created for her a few years ago. She’s used this story in West Africa to present the gospel.

Now it’s available in a book form in two sizes. It can be viewed in full if you just send me an email request at jean@jamsbooks.com. Let us know what you think, especially if you have experience in Africa.

Mackenson Takes it to the House

JAMSBooks recently partnered with Dr. Ric Bonnell and the Kay Mackenson clinic in Haiti to custom-illustrate a coloring book about diabetes education. Dr. Bonnell’s adopted son from Haiti (one of 8 children), Mackenson Phildor Bonnell, 20, co-authored the book, telling the story through his experience as a child.

Dr. Bonnell sent me this link the other day. I feel like JAMSBooks collaborated with a celebrity; he’s a hero in the way he knows how to put his heart to good use.  This is what Mackenson’s up to…
