Norfolk Academy Students Take Books to Haiti

100 hygiene coloring books in Kreyol & sharp coloring pencils are going with Helen Price Massey Hall
Director, International Programs and Global Health Fellows Program at Norfolk Academy. Her group of students will work with people on the shores of Lake Azeui, Haiti.

Hope the students have a great time watching those pencils color and seeing the children’s faces light up with the joy of learning!

Note from YWCA Haiti

Jean – we finally were able to get the coloring books today.  I couldn’t be any happier!  They look just Awesome!  Most importantly I think we have such a huge responsibility to take care of the environment and Haiti is definitely in disarray and needs lots of environment loving….I think these coloring books are so important and a Great contribution to making our world a better place!  Out of all the projects we have been doing this one is definitely one of the most gratifying.
My hope is that other organizations will want to start using them as well.
We should be giving them out in two weeks when we show a video on the environment beforehand.  I will be sending an email with photos to share with you and the Women of Galilee, who also really made this possible.
Thank you again and I send you love and blessings!

Seabrook SDA Church Teaches Hygiene with JAMSBooks

FROM THE ORIGINAL EMAIL…
Hello!
I was reading with great interest about the coloring books you have published for
Haitian children.  I understand that these books are teaching children and parents
how to stay healthy.  The purpose of my email is to find out how we can get these
books for our Haiti Mission Trip in July.
We are  a missionary group from Seabrook SDA Church in Maryland and plan to be
in Abricots, Haiti from July 6th through July 15, 2012.  We are doing a Vacation
Bible School program about ‘taking care of your body’.  We are also going to be accompanied by a dentist and 2 nurses who will provide some medical assistance
to the small area we are visiting.
Please let us know how we can acquire these books for our mission.  Thank you so
very much for publishing such a relevant piece of work for the Haitian children.
Sincerely,
Giliane St-Amand Green

Carol Jones, with Emmanuel Baptist Church here in Virginia, upon her return from
her March trip to Leogane, Haiti:

Leogane
Good Morning Jean,

God is sooooo Good! We had a great mission trip to Haiti. The coloring books
were a great help. The area we visited was the epicenter of the earthquake.
We visited a school/church where 90% of the children’s parents were dead.

I will share some pictures as soon as I can. We taught at 2 schools in 3 days.
I even got to substitute teach the first day because the teacher was not feeling well.
